Ahoy, Digital Writers!

The Yearly Review Assistant is a custom plug-in (GPT) that lives inside ChatGPT. It’s like an app you would use on your phone, but for AI prompts. And it has been specifically trained to walk you through an annual review and reflection process.

For example, here's his entire 2023 summarized into 13 bullets:
You can follow this step by step, or use it as inspiration to create a process for yourself. Either way, we firmly believe the best way to spend the last few weeks of the year is to give yourself a hard look in the mirror and be honest:
What went well this past year?
What didn’t?
Where are the opportunities to improve?
How do you plan on holding yourself accountable?
Do this for 10+ years, and the compounding personal growth will astound you.
A couple quick “best practices” before we dive in:
Set aside at least 45 minutes in a quiet location with limited distractions.
Gather any materials that will help you jog your memory. Your calendar, emails you’ve sent, or places you’ve recorded notes during the year are all good resources to have on hand. Then surround yourself with anything that puts you in a reflective mood. Find a coffee shop with a view of the mountains, watch the sunset, or dial in your favorite beats on Spotify.
The point is to prepare yourself to introspect on the year.
When we did this review for ourselves, we blocked off 1-2 hours per “step” so we could give it our full attention. ChatGPT will remember everything you write in your chat session. So, you can start and stop the process—as long as you don’t delete the conversation.
(You don’t have to do this in one sitting.)
Let’s go!
