Stop getting basic ChatGPT answers (use this instead)

The Answering Level prompt from Design Hacker

Every AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) is programmed to give you basic answers first.

AI isn’t trying to be difficult.

It's trying to save computing power.

Here’s what this means for you:

You're probably only getting 30% out of what ChatGPT/Claude can actually do.

So, today I want share with you a simple AI hack to make ChatGPT 3x smarter.

It's called Answer Leveling.

I learned this technique from from Write With AI friend, Andrew Lane.

Andrew has helped thousands of entrepreneurs build profitable online brands and courses, generating over $4M from his own digital products and helping companies like Copy.ai grow from 28k to 10M+ users.

Let me show you how you Andrew uses Answer Leveling to improve every output he gets from ChatGPT. (I’ve started using it too.)

Step 1: Start with any basic prompt

Don't overthink this part.

You can even use a terrible prompt like, “Give me 5 tips about writing online.”

Level 2 Prompt:

Write a X word post about Y.

Just get the initial response

The simpler your first question, the better this works.

Step 2: Level up ChatGPT’s first response

Reply with: "That's a level 1 answer. Can you give me a level 2 version that goes deeper?"

You’re telling ChatGPT, “Come on. I know you can do way better.”

Watch as the AI provides more detailed, nuanced responses.

For example:

Level 2 Prompt:

That's a level 1 answer. Can you give me a level 2 version that goes deeper?

Notice the dramatic improvement in specificity.

Now, we don’t stop here.

Because there's one more level.

Step 3: Ask ChatGPT for a "level 3" response

Request "the most advanced strategies you can think of."

Level 3 is where you find can you find the gold most people never reach.

Level 3 Prompt:

Now give me a level 3 response, the most advanced strategies you can think of.

The beauty of this approach?

It works for everything:

• Marketing strategies

• Content creation

• Business analysis

• Product development

• Writing and editing

• Strategic planning

The difference between Level 1 and Level 3 is incredible. Level 1 gives you generic advice you can find anywhere. Level 3 opens up actionable strategies that make you go, “Wow, that’s actually useful.”
