Ahoy, Digital Writers!
Today I am going to walk you through a framework for using ChatGPT to give you 100% clarity in your writing.
If you are anything like me, it’s easy to fall for the trap of trying to write for everyone—never wanting to cut out a reader by being specific. But writing for everyone means writing for no one.
Instead, you want to use specificity to your advantage.
Write to 1 specific person to solve 1 specific problem.
In Ship 30 for 30, we call this Pinpoint Writing: using specificity to gain clarity as to who exactly your target reader is (by answering the following questions): ****

Whose problem am I solving?
What emotion am I creating?
What action am I encouraging?
What benefit am I unlocking?
From here, writing is simple.
Write directly to one person to solve one problem. And solve their problem by generating one emotion, to get them to take one action, so they can unlock one specific benefit. But here's the most important thing to keep in mind.
You're not actually writing for one person— you're writing for the hundreds, thousands, or millions of other people who have this exact problem.
And if you think you're being too specific, you're failing to recognize the scale of the internet.
Because if you can solve one person's problem, the sheer size of the internet guarantees there are countless others just like them.
Let’s dive in!

And with a little guidance, ChatGPT can help you clarify your thinking.
Here’s how it works:
