Who is reading your writing?
A human! (That’s right.)
Which means you want to think of everything you write as a “letter.” And just like a letter to a friend, you’d open with something like “Hey there!” Something light & casual. And that tone should find its way throughout your writing.
Avoid the “professional” tone.
Just say it like it is. Break things down. Be honest. Friend to friend.

Because it helps you think of the person you are writing for. It immediately sets the tone and context.

Writing to your son or daughter is going to have a very different tone, style, and focus than writing to a group of busy professionals or someone just starting out in their career.
When you're clear on who you're talking to, you can write directly to their needs, wants, questions, and objections, and as a result making the very next thing you write “your introduction” hyper-relevant and mouth-watering for your reader.
